From a Woman’s PerspectiveFern writes, I am tall and love to wear long tunics and vests. However, I never am certain what coat to wear on these longer tops. Any suggestions? Dear Fern, Since you are tall and don’t have to worry about cutting your height with your garment selection you have some options. If you own a truly long coat that slips over your tunics and covers them, that is fine. If not, since capes and shawls are in try draping one over your tunic. The asymmetry and flow will look fine with your tunics and long tops. Ginger writes, I am a classic winter and love wearing black and white clothing in summer. Now that winter is here I wish to add some white to my wardrobe. I have been told that I should switch to off white. What do you think? Dear Ginger, Years ago, "winter white" was four seasons and "crisp" white was for spring and summer. The only exception was a tailored shirt. This no longer holds true. If you like fresh clean white for winter you’ll find more than just "crisp" cotton shirts in white. There are white sweaters, fleece, ski jackets, coats, and more. All in white white. As a cool toned dramatic person you can successfully wear white and eggshell white all year round. In fact, this season I have seen satin tux's in white that are dramatic and totally appropriate for the upcoming "Holiday Season". If you feel special in white, find flattering and season appropriate garments and wear them. You’ll look great! Enjoy! Kayla writes, I am the proud owner of several Stuart plaid items. I have a kilt, a shoulder bag, a shawl and a lambs wool sweater with plaid collar and cuffs. I have read that plaid is in this season. How should I wear my plaid collection? Dear Kayla, Yes plaid is on the fashion menu this season. Yes, you can enjoy your Stuart plaid items, but don’t wear them all together. Use them individually to spice up your solids. Esther writes, I just bought a great all purpose wine-red hand bag. I love it! However, so far I have not been able to find matching shoes. How can I use my bag? Dear Esther, Matching bag and shoes are no longer a must do. In fact you will look smart using your bag as an accent piece so long as the colour and style compliments your total look. Have fun using your bag and treat it as a separate accessory. |
